Potential Allergic Reactions
Chemical hair services, and even ingredients in “natural” or organic hair treatments, may cause allergic reactions. Symptoms can include but are not limited to: redness, burning, itching, and swelling. Some ingredients may also affect the respiratory system, and their fumes may affect the eyes and other organs. Reactions can range from mild to severe. Inform your hair stylist of any allergies or sensitives to any product or ingredient, whether “natural” such as tea tree and topical vitamin C, as well as hair products or chemicals such as formaldehyde and hydrogen peroxide. Please be advised that you are in hair salon, and even chemicals and products used on other clients in the salon may be airborne or on a surface you touch, and may affect you adversely. CHIC Hair Studio Boca Raton is not responsible for any allergic reactions while in salon or after leaving salon. If you feel unwell or have an adverse reaction while in salon, please let us know so we may call 911 immediately.
Hair Smoothing & Straightening
Most Products and services that offer longer term straightening or smoothing/de-frizzing of hair, contain chemicals that have the potential to be more irritating to health than their more natural and shorter term options. CHIC Hair Studio Boca Raton offers both more natural and low chemical options like Magic Sleek, Alfaparf Milano Smoothing Stem Cell Treatments, a 72 hour Smoothing Mask Treatment, WOW Supernatural DreamCoat Blowouts, etc., and low chemical options, as well as higher chemical options. Although low enough to be approved by the FDA, some of these options, like the Original Brazilian Blowout and Lasio Keratin, and our signature Beverly Hills Keratin, contain products like Formaldehyde, and their derivatives. Therefore, CHIC Hair Studio Boca Raton uses an industrial powered FUME VAC that is designed specifically for these types of services, and it is placed directly overhead during the process. The FUME VAC, per manufacturer, will mitigate about 85% of the chemical fumes. All hair smoothing & straightening clients must wear a face mask and protective eye gear that we supply and sign a waiver of liability. We reserve the higher chemical treatments by appointment only, on Mondays when the rest of the salon is technically closed. We also offer early morning and after hour options on certain days.

Patch Test
A patch test can be requested at least 24 hours before a chemical hair service or treatment. This allows us to check for any signs of allergies or discomfort.

Health Conditions
If you have any previous health conditions, which may include asthma, respiratory issues & skin disorders, are undergoing treatments for conditions including but not limited to thyroid disease and cancer, we suggest asking your healthcare provider before booking a chemical service or hair treatment. We offer organic and ammonia free color options and your healthcare provider can access a list of ingredients through the manufacturer.

If you are pregnant or nursing, please contact your healthcare provider before booking any hair service.
Consultation, Procedure & Duration
Chemical services can take several hours and possibly several visits to complete, depending on your desired results. Your hair integrity and scalp health is of primary importance to us, and sometimes that means a slower process, such as lightning when using bleach. Please make sure to allow enough time in your schedule to complete your service. Detailed procedures, timing and price can be discussed during consultation.
